I wish I posted a before article about this weekend but I decided it’s at least worth it to write what happened after the weekend. For those who aren’t in the know for Roughly two decades comic artists like to take the “24 hour comic challenge” it’s a goal to draw a 24 page comic in 24 hours or less. I’ve been doing this annual event for the last three years and I have been lucky enough to complete the books with enough time but I’m also lucky that it’s a weekends where I get to eat pizza, draw comics and talk to some amazing local talent. This year as a joke I wanted to draw my friend Eric Mengel’s comic Ocho. He’s been doing the comic for 20 years and he puts everything he can in every page. During these weekends he hasn’t been able to finish because he’s focused on the quality of the work so I thought it’d be a good chuckle to write a comic about someone who is doing Bootleg Ocho comics and prints, a subject him and I are both adamant about. I finished in just under 18 hours and I thought I’d share my comic for you. I’ll be printing these for Tuscon Comic-con as well so you will be able to hold one of these in your hands soon.
